Type-II-Waister

The moment for layering is upon us!

These days, I find myself reaching for similar fabrics from summer to winter, turning typical urges upside-down, and focusing on favourite fabrics for all the stagioni. Wearing them under something more, or over something less, adding-in seasonality as required.

TYPE II! We've expanded upon our practise of fiddling around with shirts, and, I fear, my friends, we've come up with another irresistible + irreplaceable new classic.

The fruit of that labour has been the evolution of the Waister. If Type I (as it shall now be known) was more shirt than jacket, then Type II is a little more jacket than shirt. Cut with body lines inspired by everyone's favourite denim go-tos, Type II is an intensely handy beast.

Made at our shirt-maker in northern Italy, this new shirt has all the hallmarks of L.E.J finery - delicate seams, precise stitches, carefully studied cloth + proportion, culminating in a category blurring garment which is at once as familiar as it is revolutionary [sic].

Cut to sit over the waist - a la trucker - the Type II Waister is perfect for adding a loose layer beneath a heavier jacket without that awkward sub-hem show. Then, for when the clouds part, it's its own jacket, too.

- 100% cotton, 220gsm
- pre-washed, unbleached, organic
- a gently shaped waist
- waist tabs
- slightly dropped shoulder
- loose-lined camp collar
- 2 chest pockets, w / flap and button
- 1 internal patch pocket
- L.E.J mother of pearl buttons
- cut to hit the hips
- made in Italy

- gentle cold wash or dry clean
- wash inside-out to avoid button chips + fabric abrasion/marking
- wash with like colours
- dry on a hanger, or flat
- do not tumble dry
- re-shape whilst damp
- give collar a tug whilst drying
- keep out of direct sunlight, + away from direct heat, whilst drying
- low soft iron
